The school

The Instituto Uruguayo Argentino is a bilingual Spanish-English school with French and Portuguese teaching, licensed, secular and coeducational, which provides education to children and young people from 12 months to complete the Diversified Baccalaureate, with all orientations and options.

Educational Proposal

Initial Education

An environment where the child is the true protagonist of his education: he observes, investigates, manipulates, plays and grows happily with his peers and nature.

Primary Education

A bilingual Spanish-English pedagogical proposal develops the intellectual area, stimulates the cooperative accomplishment of tasks and promotes self-discipline. Teamwork, respect for others, and the development of critical, constructive and creative thinking are values that encourage the work of our students.

Secondary Education

A bilingual Spanish-English pedagogical proposal promotes in young people a mentality open to the challenges of the 21st century and prepares them to respond to the demands of tertiary education at the national and international level.

Languages

Bilingual Spanish-English pedagogical proposal.Cambridge Associate School. French, endorsed by the French Ministry of Education with DELF diplomas. Portuguese, with international certification from the University of Cambridge.

Sports

The IUA offers a wide range of sports: Hockey, Handball, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Artistic Gymnastics, Tennis and Swimming. The synthetic turf field for Hockey practice was inaugurated by the National Women’s Hockey Team, Las Cimarronas, holding a clinic for children and young people.

Technology

We develop an innovative educational proposal, capable of guiding the flow of access of children and young people to technological media for the benefit of the educational process, using ICTs as a support in the teaching-learning process.

Our environment

The city, cosmopolitan from its origins, brings a wealth of nationalities and has a very particular profile within the diverse Uruguayan urban fabric: with a stable population of 60,000 people (according to the 1996 census), Punta del Este’s installed infrastructure is operationally equipped to function with more than twice its permanent population.
