Portuguese

Ana Sofia Paiva, Portuguese storyteller, talks with IUA students.

The regional and continental importance that the Portuguese language has been acquiring in recent years is a reality. Our objective is to prepare students in all areas, so that once they graduate they can face the challenges that the working environment proposes and meet the demands of a world that is changing at a dizzying pace.

The constantly changing cultural integration demands the dynamization of teaching; for this reason, the faculty has developed a program that takes this reality into account. This program exploits the available computer resources (specific software, Internet, communications), allowing the students to carry out research, workshops in which they are put in contact with aspects of Brazilian culture and current Portuguese.

This combination of resources will greatly contribute to the student’s ability to perform in diverse day-to-day situations.

Portuguese is one of the subjects of I.G.C.S.E. of the University of Cambridge that are taken to obtain the International Diploma of Secondary Education.

Our educational proposal offers the teaching of Portuguese from the 1st year C.B. of Secondary School.
